WHAT IS NORMAL?

• Breasts are symmetric. The left side is usually larger than the right.
• Nipple is well above the fold and points outward. The skin color around the nipple (areola) usually takes up less than one-third of the breast surface.
• Size is subjective. The breast usually reaches the sixth rib. Average volume would be a B or C cup.
• Overtly small or large breast can pose a problem for the person concerned.

Breast Increase / Augmentation

• Breast enlargement is usually performed by implants. Chest wall size and the amount of loose skin in which to place the implant are limiting. Usually, two increases in cup size is the maximum.
• Previously saline implants were used but now we use textured silicon implants from size 190ml to 600ml.
• Day care procedure under general anesthesia.

Breast Reduction

• Breast reductions often produce a very pleasing result, allowing the patient to be more active. Aesthetically, the improved breast position and contour.
• 200gms. to 800gms removed from each breast in sitting.
• 24 hours stay in nursing home.
• Done under general anesthesia.

Breast Lift

• Also known as mastopexy.
• Breast firming and tightening done.
• 24 hours stay in nursing home.
• Done under general anesthesia.

Male Breast Reduction / Gynecomastia Surgery or Treatment

• 3 Grades of Male breast enlargement requiring treatment
• Treatment includes Liposuction, Breast Disc Removal, Skin Excision
• Day care procedure under general anesthesia.
• To wear pressure garments for 4 weeks post operatively.
